The main element of the jersey is the Cross of Saint Andrew, a symbol historically associated with A Coruña's maritime tradition. In the 19th century, this cross appeared on the emblem of the former maritime province of A Coruña. Deportivo has adopted this symbol to create a link between the city, Galicia, the Atlantic Ocean, and the club's history.
